A new Sonic the Hedgehog docu-series has started

There are ways SEGA is celebrating Sonic’s 30th anniversary this year. That’s right, 30 years, you are old. Or if you aren’t old, Sonic is a blue hedgehog who has been in a bunch of games.

So yo continue the celebrations surrounding Sonic the Hedgehog’s landmark 30th anniversary, SEGA and energy drink partner, G FUEL, have teamed up to release a short-form documentary series. Sonic Rings Series will feature a slew of celeb/influencer guests. Each of them will be sharing their favourite Sonic memories from throughout the decades.

The first features Jirard Khalil of The Completionist. During the episode, Khalil discusses the evolution of the iconic franchise, highlighting the introduction of simultaneous multiplayer gameplay and his favourite aspects of Sonic the Hedgehog.

He also takes a pass at drawing a Sonic portrait and plays through the classic Green Hill Zone Act 1 from the original Sonic the Hedgehog, released in 1991.

It ends as you would expect.

SEGA is going to publish new episodes of the Sonic All-Star Series in the coming weeks. They can all be watched on the Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube channel.
