Gift Guide – Gamer Edition
It’s hard to believe, but Christmas is almost here yet again. If you’re like us here at CultureJam, you probably leave your shopping until the last minute as well. Well, we may be shoddy shoppers, but we know a thing or two about what the gamers in your life might like this Christmas.
If you want to get the gamers in your life something a little more personal and relating to their favorite game maybe personalized hoodies could be a nice little stocking filler.
If you’re looking for that perfect gift for the gamer in your life, have a look through this list and unlock that ‘Great Christmas Gift’ achievement when said gamer’s little face lights up as they unwrap the game they have not-so-subtly been hinting at for months (just don’t expect to see them for the rest of Christmas Day).
This year, we’re doing things a bit differently, and hope to save you some money along the way. That’s why every item in the gift guide includes a link to our friends at PriceSpy, to ensure you get the perfect present for the perfect price.
Not only that, but thanks to PriceSpy we have some epic prizes for you to win; head on over to the giveaway page and be in with a chance to win a PS4 or Xbox One (winners choice).
Red Dead Redemption 2
8 years in the making, and apparently well worth the wait! Red Dead Redemption 2 is Rockstar’s magnum opus, of that there is no question. This is a vibrant, gigantic, living world crafted from pixels and dreams, and hours go by in the blink of an eye.
Brian said that it’s flawed, but it’s probably as close as Rockstar have come to perfection. You need to play it.

Available from $89 on Xbox One and $92.69 on PS4
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
The Northern Hemisphere loves putting all the best games out in autumn, so they come out just in time for Christmas. AC Odyssey came out over a month ago, we still love it, and are nowhere close to done with it. If the gamer in your life hasn’t yet plunged into Ancient Greece, or if you want to try it yourself, you will not be disappointed.
Check out Brian’s first ever 10/10 review.
Available from $79 on Xbox One and $75 on PS4
Pokemon: Let’s Go
Pokemon is a classic of gaming, and this new incarnation aims to be the combination of old school Generation 1 with the modern take of Pokemon Go. This is something a TON of people will be clambouring for this holiday season. Treat someone. Treat yourself.
CultureJam’s review is incoming.
Available on from $87.69 on Nintendo Switch
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4
Just like Christmas, Call of Duty comes every year and this year Black Ops 4 brings with it THE best addition the franchise has ever seen; Battle Royale baby! Blackout mode throws up to 100 players on a map, blends the gameplay mechanics we all know and love from COD and then makes every player fight to the death until one player is left standing.
Check back soon for Ben’s review, when he can drag himself away from Black Ops 4 and write the review.
Available from $93.69 on Xbox One and $93.69 on PS4.
God of War
Make no bones about it, Kratos is the God of PS4. There is a reason this game is the highest scoring game in PlayStation’s history. It is a near flawless adventure that just doesn’t put a foot wrong. If PS4 gamers don’t own this game then trust us, you need to buy it for them!
And if you’re still not convinced, Ben gave it a perfect score.
Available from $79.00 on PS4.
Astro A50 Gaming Headset
How much do you really love them? This gorgeous headset is a thing of beauty, comfort, and quality, but it’s also wildly expensive compared to other gaming headsets.
Brian has a comprehensive review on the way, so watch this space. But he approves and recommends.
Available for $445.33 compatible with Xbox One and PS4
Forza Horizon 4
There really hasn’t been a lot to write home about with Xbox exclusives this year but what they lack in exclusives, Microsoft have made up with Forza Horizon 4. Forza is one of the best looking games on Xbox One and a complete stunner on a 4KTV with the Xbox One X. Dynamic season changes showcase Britain and noticeably change the way the cars handle.
It’s a near perfect open world racer that scored a 9.5/10 from Ben.
Available from $87.68 on Xbox One.
Logitech G Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse
OK so as far as Gaming Mice go, the Logitech G Pro Series Gaming Mouse isn’t the cheapest in the world. The old saying goes you get what you pay for and in the G Pro Wireless Mouse Logitech has created an amazing mouse that cuts the cord and still delivers exceptional performance for gamers.
Available from $247.94.
PlayStation Classic Console
Retro gaming more your thing? Well then, here’s something pretty; the PlayStation Classic Console. This limited-edition console is a replica of the original 1994 model, and will bring back all your best memories from the 90’s. It’s pre-loaded with 20 old school games, including the original Grand Theft Auto, Final Fantasy VII, Tekken 3 and many more, and comes equipped with two wired controllers, an HDMI cable, and a virtual memory card.

Limited Edition PUBG Xbox One Controller
Winner winner chicken dinner. OK I’ll forgive you if you’re a Fortnite player not a PUBG player. Either way, the PUBG Controller for Xbox One is a fantastic limited edition controller that is perfect for the battle royale gamer in your household.
Available from $119.
Detroit: Become Human
If you’re wondering where humanity may end up as we pursue advances in AI, machine learning and Androids then Detroit: Become Human is the game that gives you an insight into a possible future for humanity. A fantastic game that has real relevance and will make you think hard about the ethical dilemmas that could arise as humans advance.
It was nearly perfect in Brian’s eyes, achieving an 9.5/10.
Available from $88.69 on PS4.
And if you still aren’t happy with some of those prices, then make sure you check out the price history graph at the bottom of each product page on Pricespy. It provides unique insights into when each product has traditionally been offered at cheaper prices.

Seeing as I have most of those games already (though is should actually finish origins then get odyssey…) the robotic vacuum actually appeals the most to me!
The PUBG controller for me!
AC Odyssey, I am so behind on gaming, so many good ones came out around a similar time so I cant wait to catch up over the holidays on so many I’ve missed
Bring on the Classic PS console! Now if only I could be 13 again? is this an option?
