Indie Publisher, Another Indie and Developer, Dark Star Game Studios have announced Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption due for release in Q1 2018 on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
Dark Star Studios comprises seven AAA game studio veterans from the likes of Ubisoft, Blizzard and Konami with an aim to make AAA quality games. Sinner looks to have a real Dark Souls feel to it and has the potential to be just as hard with, Ian Garner, Director of Developer Relations over at Another Indie saying that, “”Sinner is not another game where the player grows stronger to fight the final boss on equal footing, Adam will struggle with his physical prowess as well as his internal need for atonement, and his ultimate test will be his most challenging.”
If that’s not enough to make you think Dark Souls then the premise is bound to get you thinking about Souls: Adam, a fallen soldier on a quest to save his soul, will face eight abhorrent bosses, the first seven each based on one of the deadly sins. Before each clash, Adam must make a sacrifice to enter combat and choose a stat to level down. Each fight will be tougher than the last and force players to carefully choose their actions in battle, aided by a variety of unlockable weapons. The action is framed by a desolate afterlife in which Adam seeks to restore his memories and atone for his sins. How he interacts with each boss will ultimately decide his fate in one of multiple endings.
Given the success of Dark Souls, there is bound to be plenty of interest in Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption so we’ll be keeping a close eye on the game as it continues through its development cycle.
